A new proposal for the Vice Presidency has surfaced in light of the many challenges with the Sarah Palin. It just doesn’t seem like a fair fight for those poor Republicans, so with that we’d like to lend our voices in supporting a new vice presidential candidate:

botanical paperworks holiday discount for musegreen readers!
September 28th, 2008 by kristen No Comments
I don’t know about you, but I am the ultimate procrastinator when it comes to holiday planning. I come up with elaborate projects and manage to pick up a few things here and there through the Fall. As Christmas nears, I find myself overwhelmed by my overly-complicated projects and the need to get it all [...]
is immigration increasing greenhouse gas emissions?
September 28th, 2008 by kristen 5 Comments
Maybe I’m out of the loop, but I hadn’t heard before that immigration into the US is increasing greenhouse gas emissions. I guess it makes sense, but it just hadn’t occurred to me before. I found an interesting video and accompanying study from the Center for Immigration Studies discussing this issue. Here’s the video:

September 26th, 2008 by lorraine No Comments
Looking more like somewhere that the Teletubbies would chill out, on Sept 27th the California Academy of Sciences will open the doors to its new home. It is now housed in what is claimed to be the world’s largest green-certified public museum, complete with a two-and-a-half acre living roof! Nearly 10 years and $500 million [...]

September 26th, 2008 by kristen No Comments
I found an interesting and informative video on YouTube today from the Corporate Eco Forum that was held on September 8, 2008. The Corporate Eco Forum is an invitation-only event for executives of Fortune 500 corporations. This video is from the keynote speaker at the forum, Dr. Eric Schmidt (Chairman and CEO at Google), with [...]
today’s special: apples
September 25th, 2008 by kristen No Comments
I miss the East Coast in the Fall. The colors of the leaves, the crispness of the air, the crackle of dried leaves underfoot, the smell of a wood stove… It was a reminder that Halloween and Thanksgiving were right around the corner. Here in LA there is something of a Fall, but the occasional [...]
deliciously funny rhubarb
September 24th, 2008 by kristen No Comments
It’s officially Fall and time to start cooking the funky cool fruits and veggies…One of my favorite funky veggies acts like a fruit… rhubarb. I remember the first time I had rhubarb pie as a child. I thought it was so weird that something that started out looking like celery could taste so delicious! (Sure, [...]
change your leaders and your light bulbs
September 23rd, 2008 by gaia No Comments
Thomas Friedman’s latest work, Hot, Flat and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution and How It Can Renew America, lays it out clearly: It is time for a change. His phrase is “Change your leaders, not your light bulbs”, his point being that individual changes only take us so far, and we need the [...]
the talk market: a great new way to shop green
September 22nd, 2008 by kristen No Comments
While attending the BlogWorld Expo in Vegas this past weekend, I discovered the coolest new way to shop. The company is called The Talk Market and the concept is awesome… Essentially, it’s like a you-choose-what-to-watch QVC for blogs. In fact, the co-founders both worked for QVC and combined sold over 500,000 items there. As a [...]
super-charge your Sundays with superfoods
September 19th, 2008 by lorraine No Comments
I’m not sure what it is about Sundays, but it’s often the day when I take stock of my eating habits and crave the ‘new me’ that will eat healthier and run more miles a week. So, with that said, I often nip down to my local Wholefoods or Trader Joes in search of the [...]
wildflower power
September 18th, 2008 by kristen 1 Comment
I discovered a great site today, Botanical Paperworks, that sells gorgeous flower paper. The paper contains wildflower seeds that can be planted after use. I’ve seen many sites with wildflower paper, but this one offers more products than similar sites I’ve run across. I was going to get wildflower wedding invites for my wedding a [...]
how we’re poisoning our children with BPA
September 18th, 2008 by trish 3 Comments
You know, the news lately hasn’t been exactly uplifting. I find myself reading the obituaries more often just to feel good I’m alive… lovely. Well, this morning I sit down after the kids go to school and there is a gem of an article in the morning paper about the chemical Bisphenol A (BPA) - [...]
biking for breast cancer
September 15th, 2008 by lorraine No Comments
“I met the greatest group of women today! This morning there was a link on the Susan G Komen message boards regarding a bunch of breast cancer survivors riding from Los Angeles to San Francisco on Harleys. When I looked up the information, would you believe they were going to be in Santa Cruz today? [...]
barack obama’s drive for change
September 14th, 2008 by kristen No Comments
We at Muse just can’t take 4 more years of polital ignorance of the critical environmental issues at hand. Nevada is one of the major battleground states and every vote is going to count there. As a result, the members of the Obama campaign’s “Drive for Change” program are asking residents of Northern and Southern [...]
in the category of wtf… an ad campaign like no other
September 12th, 2008 by kristen 1 Comment
In this time of negative campaigning, it’s refreshing to see a positive ad for a negative product. But seriously, folks, do the members of the Corn Refiners Association (CFA) think Americans are THIS stupid?
Apparently they do. Here’s another one if you need more convincing that high fructose corn syrup is great.
a world of good
September 9th, 2008 by trish No Comments
I remember bringing our daughter home from Guatemala, her birth country, and thinking, how can I help these wonderful people that I have just left? There are so many beautiful creations. So much talent. So much hope.
Fast forward two years later and I am introduced to eBay’s new marketplace - World of Good. A place [...]
