the north pacific gyre

Here’s an excellent video from ZapRoot, aimed at children, that everybody should watch. It gives a brief overview of the giant ocean garbage pile currently floating out in the North Pacific. It has been estimated to be between the size of Texas and twice the size of the continental US. Scary stuff, indeed.
