Live… Love… Laugh… Play… Muse… Green.
MuseGreen.com officially opens it doors today, providing our MuseGreenies with an assortment of eco-oriented offerings.
MuseGreen is a green blog. Our women writers (and an occasional male perspective) cover topics that include greening your home and family, sustainable and eco-friendly products, vegetarian, organic and sustainable recipes, politics (shocking, we swing left), regional and national news, eco events, green music festivals, how to make the world a better place and random topics thrown in here and there for good measure.
MuseGreen is a place to shop. Clicking into our Shopping section allows all readers of the US and UK to shop for the same items they love and purchase at Amazon.com. Why do it here? It connects to our Amazon store and allows us to make a donation of 2% of your purchase to environmental projects.
MuseGreen is a place to play. Thinking about the things happening to our planet, to our economy, and in our world can be really depressing. We want you to to have a place to learn, have fun and make a difference - that’s why we created The Lounge. Who says playing games are a waste of time? We’ve found a number of fun games and videos - some environmentally-focused and some we just thought were cool. The play area is divided between kids, teens and adults, so pick the section that’s right for you and have some good green fun!
Today is also the launch of our signature MuseGreen environmental games. Sow Much For the Planet is our “plant-a-tree” game. It’s easy! Simply choose the multiple choice answer that best fits the question. There’s no time limit so feel free to search the web (and sometimes our articles!) for the answers. We’ll tally up how many you get right, and when you hit your 10th correct answer, a sapling will be planted as part of a very special reforestation project we’re incredibly proud to be helping. Our friends at Project Green Hands are working hard to help reforest the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s not just a planting project, it’s a community coming together to make a difference, and they inspire us. Sea Change is the ocean version of Sow Much For the Planet. Your correct answers get tallied into your OceanQuotient that we will donate to help save the oceans.
AND, if you login before playing Sow Much For the Planet or Sea Change, we’ll keep track of your score for that session and show you your permanent score. The more points you get, the higher your environmental badge of honor on MuseGreen and the greater likelihood that you’llbe invited to be featured in our Green Room. Plus, our highest scores each month will get a little green something as a thank you from us. As you play the games, please be sure to take a look at the offerings from our affiliate friends so that we may continue to offer these games to you.
MuseGreen is a place to laugh. I know it, you know it, we all know it: laughing’s good for the soul. When we find something funny, weird or clever, we’re going to put it up on MuseGreen. We’re incredibly lucky to have an amazing actress on our team, so you’ll also get the chance to meet Darlene. Darlene’s our nutty eco-correspondent who will be taking you on all sorts of adventures, from the rather, uh, unique ways she’s gone green to awesome interviews with her celebrity cohorts.
MuseGreen is a place to learn and share. Whether you’re discovering something new in one of blog posts, watching a video or taking a crack at our environmental games, we hope that you’re inspired into doing some good in your own life. We’re all on this path, trying to find a way to put meaning into our lives. We’re here for you and we’re excited to learn from you as well. Like what we’re doing? We’d love for you to tell your friends. Go ahead and post in the article Comments section when you find something that makes you want to speak up. Also, if you get inspired to write an article for us, feel free to submit it to us and we’ll take a look at it to see if it will work on Muse. That’s one of the things we think is so cool about the green movement - we’re all learning from each other, making mistakes and figuring it out as we go. We’re glad to be a part of your world. Welcome to MuseGreen!
If you’ve got a question, a problem, an eco product, service or event you want to tell us about or just want to say hi, feel free to email us anytime at muses@musegreen.com. You can also find us on Twitter. We’d love to tweet with you!
So, keep tabs on what we’re doing by clicking here, keep in touch and spread the word….
