MuseGreen Girl

It was on a recent trip back from London that it struck me, like a bolt out of the blue. I was half way into the trans-atlantic flight, my baby girl peacefully asleep by my side when I flicked the channel over to catch the movie The 11th Hour. (For those of you who have not seen it, I suggest you run out and grab a copy, as it changed my life). It’s a documentary concerning the environmental crises caused by human actions and their impact on the planet.
The overwhelming sense of urgency I felt after watching it was unbearable. I had to do something and I had to do it now. One small voice in a sea of green - but it’s a voice nevertheless.

Now, I’m incredibly lucky to have 4 fabulous girlfriends who, like me, want to do something - anything - to sort out this mess we’ve got ourselves into. It didn’t take much persuading and, after a 2 minute conflab, MuseGreen was born! Five real women, trying to change the world one tiny step and a time.

So we may be one small voice in a sea of green - but boy do we mean business…


			So, there’s not too much more to say about me. I’m just a regular woman, maybe a bit idealistic at times - oh, and I tend to gesticulate a lot when I talk - but I just put that down to being passionate! OK, now for the official bit…. Born and raised in London, our MuseGreen founder recognises the need for change. However, while she’s getting better at not leaving her re-usable shopping bags at home, this self-confessed, eco-challenged mother of 4 (despite many valiant attempts at growing her own veg), still manages to kill any plant within 50 feet. To add to her menagerie at home, Lorraine also has 3 cats and a guinea pig called Clare (don’t ask!)

			Born in Alabama, Trish lives in Northern California with her hubby, four kids and two cats. Her favorite activities include early morning runs and playing with her kids. She is getting better at gardening and composting and hopes it is rubbing off on her kids. Someday she hopes to run a community garden for all her friends and neighbors to find as much joy in growing their own food as she has.

			An all round fabulous person, Majorie’s super power is the ability to read cow’s thoughts, although she’s found that it doesn’t come in very handy. Her devotion to the environment is matched only be her outrageous claims, such as she is the person who created "nougat".

			Gaia was eco before there was even such a word. She caught the blogging bug back in ‘92, and was hospitalized for a short time. Nowadays she spends her time her raising her kids, tending her veggie patch and, when time permits, shadow boxing.

			Green is not a buzz word, it’s a way of life for Vivienne. Along with her high tech composter and mulching device, Viv has been known to have flashes of super eco-grooviness.
